A New Year, New Adventures, and a Whole Lot of Magic!
It’s that time of year again when I get super excited thinking about all the magical stories just waiting to be written and shared.
Like you guys, I’ve got *big* plans for 2025 – I’m hoping it’s going to be packed with even more enchanting happily-ever-afters, and tons of swoony, clean fantasy romance, of course!
Life can definitely be unpredictable (for instance, this blog post is a few days later than intended because I did not predict the flu bug that swept through my household right after Christmas). But I’m feeling really optimistic about bringing you a bunch of new books, new stories in old series, old books in new formats, and some other fun stuff to add to your TBR pile.
Are you ready for exciting adventures, swoon-worthy heroes, and happily-ever-afters that will steal your heart? I know I am! And what better way to kick off 2025 than with a peek behind the curtain at all the exciting things brewing in my little corner of the fantasy romance realm–and a few personal goals I’m hoping to achieve along the way.
So, snuggle up with your coziest blanket and a warm drink because I’m so excited to share what’s coming next in my world of fairy tales and magical, romantic quests!
New Adventures Unfolding: My Bookish Plans for the Year
Okay, friends, let’s talk books! 2025 is looking pretty exciting on the writing front, and I can’t wait to give you a sneak peek at what’s cooking:
- Curse of the Dark Kingdom Collection Two: More adventures, more romance, more everything you loved about the first collection! This one’s definitely happening, and fingers crossed, the audiobooks will be ready to go, too!
- The Lost Shrines is Getting a Makeover! Remember my very first series? Winged Avatar of Vengeance, Hound-shifters with the gift of Death, and the daring women who tamed them? Well, it’s getting brand new covers, new editing, and updated interiors. I’m so excited to give these stories a new lease on life.
- A Brand New World Awaits! Brace yourself to fall in love with a whole new cast of characters, magical creatures, and captivating, unique new retellings! I’m practically bursting to share this one with you. And that’s not all! Here are a few more projects simmering on the back burner:
- Catching Up with Tanraed (Short Story): Remember Tanraed? Well, this short story dives into Tanraed’s emotional journey back to his homeland and his reunion with the Fey Queen. Get ready for a heartwarming happily-ever-after!
- Maybe More Short Stories? Time is always the tricky bit, but I’m hoping to squeeze in a few more short stories set in the worlds of The Lost Shrines and Curse of the Dark Kingdom.
- More Audiobooks, Perhaps? I’d love to bring more of my series to life in audio format. Let me know which ones you’d most want to listen to!
Beyond the Books: My Personal Goals (and Creative Struggles!)
Writing isn’t the only thing on my mind. Here are a few other things I’m hoping to accomplish this year:
- Taming the TBR Beast: Like most bookworms, I have a TBR pile that’s threatening to take over my house. For some reason, when I’m writing, I tend to shy away from reading in my own genre. And since I’m almost always writing, I’m way behind on all the new releases that I’ve collected and left gathering dust. This year, I’m determined to carve out more time to immerse myself in the worlds of other authors, especially within my beloved fantasy romance genre.
- The Never-Ending Quest for Inspiration: Just like any artist, I’m always seeking fresh ways to reignite my creative spark. I’m constantly on the lookout for new ideas on how to fire up my imagination and keep those stories flowing. This year I plan to explore some new techniques and share the journey with you.
- Connecting with You Amazing Readers: I’m always surprised (and delighted!) when you guys are interested in the behind-the-scenes stuff. So, I’m going to try to be better about sharing glimpses into my writing life and the crazy journey of being an author.
Why a Blog? (Confessions of an Introvert)
You might be wondering why I chose a blog over, say, YouTube or a podcast. Well, here’s the truth:
- Introvert Life: Writing feels like my comfort zone. I can express myself without the added pressure of being on camera or behind a microphone.
- The Rambling Monster: Put me in front of a camera and I turn into a rambling mess. Writing lets me carefully choose my words and get my thoughts across in a way that actually makes sense.
- A Lifelong Love Affair with Words: As a lifelong reader, I simply adore the written word. It offers a unique opportunity to pause, reflect, and savor each sentence at my own pace. While I love to watch YouTube and listen to podcasts, I often find myself scrambling to rewind back to the point where my mind wanders off on a tangent. I’m sure there are others out there who feel the same. And some who might like a little variety in their media!
- Tech Challenged (Just a little bit): I lack the technical skills and equipment to do video or audio justice. And with my already ambitious 2025 plans, mastering these mediums isn’t high on my priority list. While the blog will be my main writing space, I promise to add a few images on the blog to keep things interesting and experiment a little more on my Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Fair warning, though, even those posts will probably have a lot of words. It’s just my nature!
My ADVANCED REVIEW TEAM gets a sneak peek at my new books before they are in stores, and occasionally older favorites re-shared between releases.
