Cross stitching the Dragon:)
Finding more creative outlets
I promised myself at the beginning of the year that I would make the time to take up cross stitching again.
For a long time, this was one of my favorite hobbies. It kept my hands busy and gave my mind a chance to wander. It was the perfect combination of busy and bored to fuel creativity. (see boredom and creativity post)
However, I was faced with the dreaded paradox of choice. There are so many gorgeous patterns available now. And with the time I have to devote to the hobby, I probably can only complete one large or two small projects a year.
So instead of starting anything, I spent 5 months changing my mind…
Enough indecision is enough
Finally, I got fed up with myself. So I chose Coppervein.
Gorgeous, isn’t he? I don’t have a copper dragon in any of my Dragon Ever After books. Yet. But I think I might have to write one into something I do in the future:)
The beginning:
This is as far as I’ve gotten so far. Like I said, with a project this big and this complicated, it will probably take me the better part of a year to finish. But I am very excited to dive back into cross stitch again.
(If you want to see all the choices I was struggling with, my Pinterest cross-stitch board is filled with gorgeous potential. And this is the Facebook post where I was trying to narrow it down.)
What hobbies are you trying to make more time for?
