Fairy Tale Vacations

by | May 12, 2019 | My Life

I wanted to write about my fairy tale vacation bucket list.

But it quickly became obvious that with the number of places and destinations I’ve pinned, bookmarked, and research that I’d end up with a book rather than a blog post.

So I decided to organize and categorize all the places I wanted to visit. Then I could write about them in bite-size chunks.

And since I’ve lived on the East Coast my entire life, of course my first impulse is to check out the other side of the country:)

 West Coast Fantasy Road Trip

The one and only time I’ve visited the West Coast, it was to take an Alaskan Cruise out of Seattle. (Which was a whole fairy tale experience of its own!)

But there is so much more I want to see.

Hoh Rain Forest, Washington

In every single picture I’ve seen, the forest looks a misty, mossy magical world. Someplace mystical and ethereal and yet so very real.

Port Townsend, Washington

While I’m in Washington, I absolutely have to check out the town that bills itself as one of the coolest small towns in America! It looks like a charming town filled with Victorian architecture, quirky events, and a thriving artistic community.

Redwood National Park

Just seeing pictures of those towering trees makes me feel like Alice in Wonderland after the shrinking potion. I really want to see them in person and just marvel at the history and endurance and magic of nature.

Carmel-by-the-Sea

After being over-awed by majestic trees, I want to drive down the coast and check out this unique town. Another unconventional town filled with artists, and, more importantly, populated by adorable fairy tale cottages.

What magical places would you visit if you had the chance?
